Tela Cycle is expanding its sustainable textile innovations beyond apparel by developing insulated sleeping mats made from discarded clothing for disaster response and emergency shelters.
The initiative aims to transform textile waste into functional relief materials while creating livelihood opportunities for local communities and supporting circular economy practices. In partnership with DOST-Philippine Textile Research Institute and DOST Central Luzon, the project highlights how sustainable innovation can strengthen disaster resilience, environmental responsibility, and community development.
